Unfortunate findings
So a little bummed. Still no yarn. Delivery is supposed to be two days but I emailed the business and found out that they were still waiting for Silver grey to come in so it hasn't even been shipped. Oh well now I'll just have to patient. I guess it means my order will be more of a surprise when it arrives. In some ways it's also a plus that it's not here so it makes me focus on my school work in these last two weeks rather than distracting myself with a new hooky project.

Waiting
I'm sitting here with my computer looking out the front window now waiting for the Mail. The UPS man came and was a total dream crusher no box of yarn for me just magazines for my mom's business. So now I'm just hoping the yarn for my strippy blanket comes in the mail today. My email said 1 to 3 business days and that was Wednesday. unfortunately that may have been postponed until the online payment went through. which might mean that now I may be waiting till friday. Well wish me luck on the yarn front.

Sweet little ripple
My original plan for my friends baby blanket was to crochet the blanket below.
The pattern for it is a Lion Brand pattern I found online for free, and the Yarn is Vanna's Choice in: Pea green, honey, antique rose, brick and rust. Several problems arose in the gathering and beginning process of the Blanket however, first off, When I went to purchase my yarn I Could not find pea green, and due to the fact the shower is this weekend, I had to settle with an alternative color. I chose Vanna's Choice Baby in sweet pea. It's not the color I wanted but I had to keep moving forward. The second problem I ran into was the pattern was rather screwy so I said why don't I use Lucy's ripple pattern from over at Attic24. The green is throwing me off but I absolutely love the ripples. I'll have photos of my progress up tomorrow!

Hooky Rug
Two years ago I first picked up a crochet hook and began to attempt my first hooky project. It was a rug, made with Lion Brand Incredible yarn in city lights. It was not turning out as I would hope. As the size increased the rug began to wave...not what I wanted at all, so I set it down. Finally I picked it up again today with more crochet knowledge and figured out what I had done wrong and tore it out to begin again.

Wonderful
Today I finally joined Grace in Small Things. I have decided to give up on the negative in my life because it not only brings down myself but those I care about. I am hoping to turn my daily attitude around and keep myself from branching into self pity and anger. I am also hoping that by really committing to this exercise everyday that I will also become more frequent in my blog posts.

Just a little update
Several years ago I had a friend who was reading Alice Sebold's "The Lovely Bones." I examined the back cover and thought it not my type of literature at the time. After seeing the preview for the film, I was endeared.
Quickly I added it to my hold list. Finally I got the email it was in yesterday and from the moment I returned home from the library last night I sat and read. I was up till roughly 2 a.m, I couldn't put it down. I soaked in the first half of the book last night and would have killed to stay in bed this morning and to curl up and finish it but sadly I had class. I wish I would have picked up this book sooner, it is spectacular and beautifully written. Only 89 pages left and I'm off to finish them.

New month
I hope everyone had a safe and happy halloween yesterday. But now my day of fun is over. I'd much rather be working on my bag for Bren today but instead I'm forced to spend my evening studying. The pattern for the bag comes from Lucy over at Attic24. I'm planning on making one for myself but with some stripy goodness.
She has so many wonderful little hooky projects I'm also working on birdie decorations to give as gifts this christmas. It still has work to be done.
Speaking of christmas, I'm so ready for winter break. Six weeks of digging into my stack of books, some good journal and blog time and some serious hooky curled in bed! I'm thrilled! This month will be a bit of a challenging month though, so much to finish and prep for before school is out. 3 papers, 2 tests to study for, a final project in ceramics all along with weekly homework. Oh the joys...
Happy no shave November to all you beardos
